Our Mission

NSURG’s mission is to foster clinical research and apply science to improve outcomes for patients facing spine surgery.

NSURG is one of the few Australian research groups which specialises in spine surgery research. Our group currently investigates all facets of spine surgery, including clinical trials, evidence-based medicine research, basic benchside testing and the development and design of innovative spine surgery techniques.

In order to improve the survival and quality of life of patients, NSURG promotes collaborative clinical research, evidence-based medicine, surgical innovations and continuous medical education. Our values include rigorous scientific methodology in conducting clinical research, development of medical technology, and training the next generation of students, researchers and health care professionals.
